I read through it though but what I needed was a way to make a bootable El Capitan USB (for use in an older Mac) while on a newer Mac running Catalina.Unfortunately, since some time, it became a bit more complicated to create this USB drive from macOS. Yes I have downloaded El Capitan (InstallMacOSX.dmg) and renamed it to Capitan.app in the Applications folder. The OS of the older Mac has been corrupted and cannot boot.You dont need working mac installation or AHCI capable motherboard, it can be done on any PC.To overcome this, we will need to use a tool, Wimlib, which is able to split this file in two parts.
